Westpac has been a proud part of New Zealand history and community for over 150 years. Beginning life in 1861 as The Bank of New South Wales, we changed our name to Westpac in 1982.

Today, Westpac New Zealand is one of the country’s largest full service banks with:

over 1.2 million customers

around 200 branches and 600 ATMs nationwide

around 900,000 registered users of our Online Banking service - performing 3 million transactions online (June 2009)

over 4,800 staff.
